Eastern Airways launches IOM-SOU

I wonder whether this will effect Alpha1. I’m sure it’ll be gladly received news, Eastern have a good reputation, even if they are quite costly to fly with.

Eastern Airways to launch Southampton-Isle of Man service
Kerry Ezard, Southampton (13Jan06, 10:24 GMT, 109 words)

UK regional carrier Eastern Airways is to begin non-stop service from Southampton to the Isle of Man on 6 March.

The Humberside-based airline will operate six weekly services on the route using BAE Systems Jetstream 41 turboprops. No other scheduled carrier offers non-stop service linking Southampton with the Isle of Man.

Eastern plans to install a Jetstream simulator at its Humberside base later this year to facilitate its training procedures, the carrier’s sales and marketing manager Keith Watson said yesterday at Southampton Airport’s annual media lunch in Winchester.

The carrier operates 17 Jetstream 41s, as well as six Jetstream 32s and four Saab 2000s, according to Avsoft’s ACAS database.

Yep, I mentioned this in the AlphaOne thread, would be surprised if they launched IOM-SOU now (Would have been anyway!).
