Eastern Airways is to launch a Monday to Friday daily service from Aberdeen to Groningen, Holland via Norwich using Embraer 145 aircraft.
Groningen will be Eastern Airways 4th destination from Norwich and its 11th from Aberdeen.
Aberdeen to Groningen
T3723 08:00 – 11:30 – 1,2,3,4,5
Norwich to Groningen
T3723 09:30 – 11:30 – 1,2,3,4,5
Groningen to Norwich
T3726 13:55 – 13:55 – 1,2,3,4,5
Groningen to Aberdeen
T3726 13:55 – 15:25 – 1,2,3,4,5

the north sea is indeed loosing its usable oil reserves, but there are also natural gas fields that are still extensive

I think it will be a 135 as Eastern don’t have any 145s. At the moment the oil companies charter aircraft to fly Norwhich – Groningen quite a lot, so it makes sense for Eastern to actualy sell the surplus seats to general members of the public.

hmmmm, you’re right there i did not think of that. But i still doubt if that is enough to fill a plane, even a small one like the ‘145.

I think one of the major oil companies is based in Groningen and the oil industry makes up a huge section of Eastern’s business, in addition to this both Norwich and Aberdeen have major links to the oil industry.

Forgive me if i am asking something silly, but who would possibly want to fly between Norwich/Aberdeen and Groningen? Amsterdam I can understand, Rotterdam too and perhaps even Eindhoven but Groningen?
