I have just priced up a flight from LBA to Southampton. The fares are ludicrously high. I appreciate that the airline is filling a gap in the market and I think its good we have an airline supporting regional domestic routes but really! There fares are ridiculous, I will have to take BA from MAN-SOU as they are much, much cheaper.
Get real Eastern!

LMAO! Thats a load of BS for sure.
Maybe its FR’s arrogant attitude thats not getting them anywhere this time. And rightly so
According to Micheal O’Leary, only 3 things could destroy ryanair
1. Nuclear war in europe
2. An airplane crash
3. Or they start to take there own bullsh-t to seriously.
we all know that nuclear war is a lessor threat today than it was 30 years ago, i dont think anybody would like to see a plane crash.. So it looks like choice number 3 with some of the gems O’Leary keeps spurting out

Now it seems FR want ‘backhanders’ from the UK tourist boards!

If they don’t give they won’t get any in return. 😉

Ryanair’s deputy chief executive, Michael Cawley, said: “Visit Britain is putting its money in the wrong place. We’re the number one contributor to British tourism.”

Exaggeration! 😮 Our judgement has been clouded by the likes of FR selling 1p flights,

My other half is very high up in BT and has to fly regularly to EDI and GLA.
Oh good. Tell me when next he is in EDI.
I’d love to have a bitching session with a BT “boss” about their “services” :diablo:

My other half is very high up in BT……
Does this mean he climbs telegraph poles? 😉 Only joking.
If people are prepared to pay the fares then I really don’t see the problem. How much is the fare icidentally? And how long the flight? Does it compare favourably, cost and time wise with a first class rail ticket?

The moaner returns along with sweeping statements! For your particular choice of flight dates and times Eastern Airways were probably more and ‘rediculously high’. Look at flights at peak business times and the difference will be less – maybe £20-30 more. My wife flies from LBA-SOU with Eastern as the slight difference in price is well worth it – she catches the early flight which leaves at 6.55am. I take her to the airport. She saves her company the mileage in getting to MAN (£60) and car parking whilst at MAN – £4-5 per day plus she can leave home 90 minutes before the flight and not three hours to allow for any M62 nightmares.

We’ve had this thread before. I refuse to analyse Eastern Airways for the 2nd time in as many weeks

I know for a fact my company uses Eastern on occasions, and it’s not just for senior executives. If there’s a genuine business case for high fares then it’s unfortunate but unavoidable.

Not dirt cheap, necessarily but I dont expect to have to take out a second mortgage for a short hop on a Jetstream, ridiculous!
Exaggeration! 😮 Our judgement has been clouded by the likes of FR selling 1p flights, and all Locos in general have brought fares down, it wasn’t too long ago that almost all airfares were around Eastern’s level. Pre Loco boom.
