I see that Lancaster NF 920 that crashed near Porjus in northern Sweden had some potentially interesting Nose Art. It looks like a semi clad lady on a coin.. Does anyone have any photographs of her that show what she looked like before the crash?

She didn’t look like that after the crash, just after she was spares recovered and chopped up post war.
Up until the mid 1950’s She had all four Merlins, and a rear turret. Due to the crew setting fire to her post crash, the fuselage from the mid upper forward was burned, but the wings and tail were all intact.
The photo’s are very old now, at least 10 years. One of the fins has gone from the site and is in the Tirpitz museum in Norway. I wish I knew how they got it, it would make my life easier.

Do you have any recent pictures of the crash site?
