Easyjet have applied to serve 13 routes from Manchester, starting Summer 2005.
Amsterdam- 3 x daily
Basle- 1 x daily
Dortmund- 1 x daily
Rimini- 1 x daily
Palma- 1 x daily
Malaga- 1 x daily
Alicante- 1 x daily
Newcastle- 2 x daily
Belfast International- 3 x daily
Nice- 1 x daily
Bilbao- 1 x daily
Madrid- 1 x daily
Anyone knows the likelyhood of easyJet actually getting these slots?

I don’t feel really bad, just thought that it would be a good time to use that smiley!
To be honest i think the whole idea of easy going to Manchester is a bad idea. They should expand Liverpool and open more european bases, like Ryanair.

Don’t feel too bad, Aviation Man.
I was about to make the same point as you, but twigged at the last moment. 😀

One way it is, clearly Mark L was referring to a return set of flights. 🙂
Oh right! 😮
Sorry Mark.

I don’t think the MAN-NCL will work and i don’t want a big argument but easyjet operate B737-700’s and A319’s which only hold about 150 passengers. Thats 300 seats for a twice daily!

I see what you mean Britannia but where all International airports now. Most HolidayMakers fly from NCL now as they can get the flights. Whereas a few years ago we couldn’t so we travelled to MAN.
The only time I have heard of people go to MAN is if they are going on a long-haul destination.I very much doubt you will not be able to get a flight from NCL with there being Thomas Cook, MyTravel, Britannia, Excel and odd flight from Monarch, FlyJet and First Choice. Plus with EasyJet having low fares to most holiday destinations in Europe from NCL, you still can’t get a flight………?
(And theres bmibaby from Teesside)
I agree with you on these points Chris, to be quite honest I think if we do get a Manchester flight, we might end up losing out to some major holiday destinations and flights. All the passengers could end up flying to Manchester and Newcastle could end up being left in the lerch. But that’s just my opinion, so we’ll see what happens. 🙂
