the landing in NCE is fantastic, just love flying along the coast! I stayed 10 mins from the airport last yr and the restaurants there are quite good spotting spots!

Flew on a 737-300 a few years back to paris not to bad at all seen as i was on crutchs at the time.

Flown on there 737-700s several times this year fantastic aircraft to fly on.

Flew on a A319 with Easyjet last year from NCL to Nice apart from the delay it was fine.

Did anyone ever fly on the ex go 300s, they were rotten!

I’ve been on 3 – from Alicante to Gatwick in 2004, from Luton to Berlin (G-IGOK) in 2005 and from Berlin to Luton (G-IGOP). Didn’t think they were that bad, but not half as good as the 319s which are excellent. Seat pitch was a bit poor on the old 733s though.

get in either the 1st row or the overwings (10 and 11), thats your best bet! Yeah thats right, BFS is the last base to have 737s and theyre getting rid in 2011. Did anyone ever fly on the ex go 300s, they were rotten!

I hope Easyjet A319s are not as cramped as Iberia ones……terrible pitch. I small, well about 1,74 and have substantial difficulties in placing my legs when seated.

I don´t mind subsidies as long they help the local community. When the people´s money helps to the region development it´s fine. I don´t like when it helps to harm other regions, areas, airports and so on, or when it´s used as a weapon in a huge chess match.

I don´t know what it happens in the UK, but in Spain there´re lots of regional quarrels and competence for new operators. And fights are usually nasty. Airlines, make a good use of this parrochial quarrels to be the tools of one airport against the other.

It means, the airport A will pay what airlines want for not to fly to airport B. Airlines know that and play the same game.

I used to like Easyjet, I don´t like them now. I have seen how they came to a “council”……and said

-How much do you give us for a flight between a and b?.
-NONE….the officials said.
-So we go to the neighbours to tease you…..

So no EASYJET any more. I understand and defend subsidies, but only when the local authorities offers them to the airlines. No this kind of begging and then using the airline to punish the airport which hasn´t accepted their proposals. Undecent at all. Sorry for my oppinion.

you’ll dislike Ryanair even more then!

You’ll have to get used to that though. That is how the industry works. A lot of airlines get some sort of susbsidy from various places. And its common business sense to propose such if you want to open up a route to a previously underused airport. Most councils jump at the chance.

I think the last 737 is to go in 2011, and the first one to leave for GOL was/is the aircraft that hit a lamppost in AMS a few years ago.

NCL which is one of only two all 737 base’s in the easyjet system is due to start changing over next year to the A319.

I “believe” its only the older versions. They will keep the 73G for a while yet in the fleet, but don’t be suprised to see the A319 across the board by the middle of the next decade, or earlier even!

Ahh right, thanks Elgan. So are the newer -700s going to GOL or are they just getting the old ones?

Yeah, not as much orange which is good. I know EZY are gettinghave loads of A319s but what was the point it getting rid of most of the 73-700s when they were only a few years old?

The 1st 73G’s are nearly 10 years old by now Sam, RYR doing just the same with their early 738’s 🙂

Anyway, the 73G are going to GOL, so they are not being retired from service either.

Merry Moderation

Sandy is correct in what he says.

I’d go further and point out that the original poster isn’t asking the rest of us for information that would take him seconds to find on the internet, either.

Glass houses, stones, sort of thing…………………..

Back to Commercial Aviation now, please.

What a pointless thread, i know this is rich coming from me.

The guy is expressing an opinion on an airline and opening it to other folks opinions. Is that not what a Forum is for?

At least he’s not harping on about every single detail from carpet colour to seat width on the aircraft of one flight for months on end. 😉 :p
