easyJet to launch Valencia from Bristol!

easyJet, Europe’s leading low-cost airline, has today announced it will begin daily services from Bristol International Airport to Valencia.

Situated on the Costa Blanca on the shores of the Mediterranean, Valencia is a cosmopolitan modern city with a historical centre ideal for both the discerning visitor and the committed reveller. Thanks to its year-round warm temperatures with over 2,600 hours of sun per year, the community in Valencia consists of more second home owners than any other region in Spain, with residents originating from all over Europe.

Famous for its football team and gastronomic delights the region also boasts more than 100 km of coastline which has been awarded the distinguished European Blue Flag, which guarantees good quality beaches and high standards.

The daily service commences on Wednesday 3 November 2004, with fares from £22.99 one way (£40.98 return including taxes) seats are available from http://www.easyjet.com today.

easyJet now offers a choice of 20 routes from Bristol International Airport, and expects to carry 2.5 million passengers from its South West base in the next 12 months.

EZY6067 Bristol – Valencia : 13.25 – 16.50
EZY6068 Valencia – Bristol : 17.20 – 18.45

easyJet really are expanding – especially from Bristol! I’ve just finished the go: an airline adventure book by Barbara Cassani (its very good!) and it was always noted that Bristol is an extremely profitable base!

I’d fly there, cos they have one of the best footie teams in Spain!

Pity about the floodlights though 🙂

I don’t think people will expect a higher level of service because it’s Valencia. They certainly don’t get it with Thomsonfly from Coventry as I know from experience. Valencia is ideal for tourism in the interior. Towns like Utiel, Camporrobles, Villagordo del Cabriel are ideal places from which to explore the magnificent scenery and local arts and crafts. Not to mention fantastic wine producing country. VLC airport is reasonable and it was nice to see the retired Iberia A300’s parked there. I shall definitely try Easyjet from BRS next time I go to VLC, especially if their prices remain competitive.

I dont know danairboy. Most people who fly to ALC are holiday makers right? And most of them stay on the Costa Blanca (between Valencia and Alicante). Alicante and Valencia are exactly the same distance from the centre of the Costa Blanca. All they need to do is let people know this, and then I think that it might take off.

Most of Easyjets clientele are more Alicante than Valencia!

Valencia will be a difficult market for Easyjet to crack, a lot of people flying to Valencia will demand a better service than those going to Alicante.

Easyjet ought to stick to ALC and pile it high and sell it cheap!

I can’t believe all the EZY expansion from BRS! It’s amazing. I’m pleased to see extra a/c at my local airport but the orange does get a bit boring…
