When the time is right, I hope family and friends not familiar with this forum can take a little comfort from the posts within it.

Have known Edger for over 20years plus though like most people I guess should of got in touch more often but he was one of the nicest blokes you could ever wish to meet . So grateful he hasn’t had to suffer a long illness RIP Edger ,

May I add to the condolences. Although I never met Edgar, I feel for the loss of a well respected forum member.

As above, I’ve always paid attention to Edgars posts on various forums, always came across as a definitive source of info, and a thoroughly nice gent.
RIP.

I’m sorry to hear of Edgar’s passing.
I always found his detailed postings on Spitfire modifications (on god knows how many forums) highly useful, as I’m sure many others did.
My condolences to his friends and family.

Very sad news I only corresponded with him at the end of September and he was most generous and helpful with information. We will all miss his knowledge and kindness.

That’s a good idea – helps to recognise his legacy more clearly.
RIP

For those of us who enjoyed online dialogue with Edgar, but knew little of his broader interests and background , could someone who knew him well put up a short biography, just a couple of paragraphs would be fine.
Many thanks – Andy Smith

Edgar was the first to step up when I asked for help with the translation of what would become Viking Spitfire.
Thank you once again Edgar. Very sorry you had to leave us like this.
Blue skies.

I don’t think our paths ever crossed, but a valued member has taken flight and we are the poorer for that. R.I.P. Edgar.

Sad news.
Takes my mind back to the many we have lost over the years.
Alistair and Steve stand out in my memory.
Blue skies Edgar.
