Hi all,
I just happen to be looking at Edinburgh Airport’s website and noticed something which has prompted me to ask a quick question.
On the live arrivals/departures list there is a flight which was scheduled to arrive from London City at 09:54, however, its now showing as “Expected 14:44”. The flight no. is NJE75A.
Is this a private jet flight (NetJets, perhaps…does NJE stand for NetJets Europe?), or perhaps a positioning of a private jet, and if so, why does it show up on the arrivals list for all to see?

NetJets is a fractional ownership program, which basically means that people buy a “share” of a jet for a price. This in turn gives them a specific no. of “flight hours” per year, and then they get to make use of the fleet of aircraft available.

Just had a look. Netjets is a commercial business jet operator who can offer ‘The Ten-Minute Take-off’, among other enticing benefits if you are a business flyer.
It appears to be a way of flying in a business jet without having to own one, so I guess that makes it a small commercial airline.
Quite a good idea, actually.

Is Netjets an operator who can provide extra capacity for scheduled airlines at short notice, perhaps? I’ll have a quick look on their website to see and report back.

NetJets quite often appear on arrivals screens, i think they are added like test flights, or slip through the airport information service filters

Netjets are a global commercial operator, though, not some rich person’s status symbol.
It’s not uncommon for their flights to appear on the Manchester information screens, although by no means all of them.
Perhaps it depends on what type of flightplan is filed?

That’s what I thought Kevin.
If I were rich/famous enough to afford to fly on a private jet, I know I wouldn’t want my arrival to be displayed on the main arrivals board.

Yes NJE is Netjets Europe
Thats Unusual as these biz jet flights don’t normally show up on flight schedules as they aren’t scheduled flights,
