Today at Edinburgh was the arrival of most of the French Rugby Supporters for the Scotland v France match tomorrow and some interesting Charter flights turned up to bring them in.
Some mixed weather today ranging from brief sunny periods to sleet then rain later on so it gave various conditions for photos.
Here are a small handful of photos from the Air France 777 departing empty back to Paris Orly in early afternoon after bringing in the Rugby Players.
More photos later when I have the time to work them up.
Fred.

Excellent pics, impressive departure by the B77W!
Oh crikey-wouldnt like to see it loaded with passengers:eek:
Don’t look tomorrow then when it departs with 450 pax.
The pdf file you link to is largely irrelevant too as the B77W is somewhat more powerful than the B773, not that it’s going to pose a problem when it’s only going as far as ORY…

A fully passenger loaded (regardless of fuel load) 777-300 could not take off in a similar length of runway (even with optimum/maximum weather flap and engine settings).

Why?? perplexed!!
I believe he’s edging at the fact it’s used what ‘appears’ to be half the runway taking off empty. So logic would dictate if it was loaded with passengers it would be a whole lot closer to the end of the runway before rotation :D.
Although I’m not sure that logic work’s either, surely the runway take-off distance isn’t just dependent on fuel load…..engine power, weather, flap settings etc all come into it too :p ;).
Amnazing shots there though!
