Edinburgh Approach 24Dec07

I got let out last night for some photo therapy and pursued a long term photo project. Came close but not quite……

The lower trail is an Aer Lingus turning on base leg turning onto finals from six miles out while the upper trail is a Jet2 B737 from Prague turning on base leg and finals.

The two trails merge together quite well, almost like a big “S” for Santa.

Stunning Image, any clues as to where it was taken from, as I can’t quite place it.

Very nice picture.

Just one critic, if I may: next time, put your camera a couple of feet further, if possible. that way, you won’t have the bin in the picture.

That’s a great shot and would make a great aviation themed christmas card to be honest.

I haven’t taken any aviation shots at my local (GLA) for ages, mainly because I think every angle and shot has been very well covered by the many snappers that populate the forums here and elsewhere, but when I see shots like yours it makes me think there must be some great ‘alternative’ spots to take shots a bit like that…?

Hmmm… you got me thinking actually, there was a spot under the 05 approach I noticed from the car the other day. Watch this space ! 😀

Are you sure that is not Santa….I still believe! Seriously though, that is a beautiful photograph, well done.

Cool Shot!

I wouldn’t mind doing similar things at MAN in the future. (Night shots of aircraft on short ‘final’)

😉 Singular not plural! 😀
