The new taxi-way looks similar to what they have done at BHX and it certainly dosen’t speed up the movement
Well, I can tell you that here in EDI they have sped up the movements.
The Tower can now fit more departures into the same time period than they could have before the new taxiways. Basically because they do not need to allow for time to back track.

There was actually a use BEFORE the opening,when a Lithuanian TU-204 used it for parking. Does this count? Sorry,can’t recall date!
Thanks anyway OSH I had forgotten about the TU204. I will contact the BAA direct. I needed this information for a history project I have been doing for some time now on Turnhouse (30,000 words so far) I doubt if I will get it published but if not I am thinking of setting up a web site (cash permitting)

Can anyway give me the actual date of the taxiway opening and the first aircraft to use it? I am sure there was another thread on this info which I meant to run off but I can’t find it.

Just found it, end of Nov for the terminal work. So that won’t be ready.

I certainly wouldn’t say no, but the odds are against you. 🙂
Not sure about the gate work in the terminal either.
