Edward Beedle

I have recently discovered that I have a, now sadly departed, relation, Edward Beedle, who was a test pilot. He was killed on on 4th March 1954 while test flying an aircraft and his death is registed in Esssex although he lived in Letchworth, Hertfordshire. Does anyone know of him or have any more information on him, such as who he worked for and what he was flying when he was killed.

I’ve tried some searches but have no information about him.
