For the progress on ZF579 at Gatwick see the following links:-

http://www.gatwick-aviation-museum.co.uk/lightning/latest_news.htm
Since being fitted most of the engine connects have been completed and two major items remain to be fitted, the No.1 reheat unit and the No.2 engine. Both are ready to go when time and resources are availalble (time and peeps!).

Viscount, I posted that link from my phone without having the chance to look through it through its entirety.

Viscount, you are correct in recalling a Gannet at Sandtoft; it’s now with us at Elvington.

Peppermint Jam,

Interesting site, but what exactly am I looking for? Which aircraft am I being directed toward, as I cannot find ‘Sandtoft Aerodrome’ in the listing, no matter how many times I look through.

However, hopefully someone will be along shortly with an informed answer. I can recall a time, some while ago that there were a number of older RAF aircraft types at Sandtoft in storage eg Vampire, Jet Provost and even a Gannet ( I think), but don’t recall a Lightning, so am as little real help as the post above.
