EH-101 for Portuguese Air Force

In the 17th January edition of Jane´s Defence W. was reported that the EH-101 Merlin had won the military contest ( against the Cougar and S-92 ) to suply 12 new SAR and CSAR helicopters for the portuguese air force….

Anyone knows anything about this???

Meanwhile the Portuguese army is ready to order 10 NH-90 at the Paris Air show in Junes ( becoming a member of NAHEMO ) abd the first EC-635 is due to be delivery very soon. ( This version will include rockets and machine gun´s — like the AH-6 little bird. )
And for some ignorants —> Lajes is part of Portugal… lajes is a village in the Flores Island ( Azores ) that is like the Spanish Canaries… ( do you guys know that the canaries was discovered by Portuguese but in the “Tordesilhas” pact the world was divided in 2 Zones – the portuguese and Spanish.
