Check what www.jetonly.com has to offer. Do you want to fly to Puerto Plata (charter airlines) or Santo Domingo (scheduled and charter)?

One of my freinds is flying to the Dominican Republic this year from Dublin and is stopping in Amsterdam and flying on with KLM maybe you would feel better connecting through a english speaking counrty though.

There are some interesting combinations if you ask www.expedia.com (not .co.uk) .

There are many charters from Gatwick that offer services to the Dominican usually flying into Puerto Plata, Punta Cana or La Romana. Have a look at a few of there websites. i.e Thomas Cook, My Travel, First Choice and Britannia you can also book a holiday through them. A cheap flight from Dublin to LGW and back with Ryanair or BA shouldn’t be too expensive booking this far ahead.

I reckon your best bet is DUB-JFK on Aer Lingus and then JFK-Santo Domingo on AA, of course all through the same alliance, Oneworld which makes it even better.
Apparently aircraft would be A330 from/to DUB, obviously.
A300 to/from Dominican Republic.
Do a search on expedia(for price), or amadeus(for options and availability).
