EIN132 operated by DC-10?

Anyone know what operated this route?
Seems a strange one to me.

Omni operated for Aer Lingus again this evening with DC-10 N621AX (ex-Northwest) on flight EI109 DUB-JFK. An EI A330 is receiving attention in a hangar at Dublin.

Well its simple the dougy 10 is cheap there in good condition and ready to use now.
ATA has troop contracts with the US they use there tristars for them.
Just beacause an aircraft is old doesn’t mean it cant perform.

Could also be a connection in that ATA have just taken over World Airways, operator of DC-10’s and MD-11’s and also a military airlift contractor.

Why then did Northwest pension them off…because they were becoming too expensive to maintain

I take it those are ex Northwest planes…That was a big clue! and why would ATA take on thirty year old DC10’s when they have a very young modern fleet of aircraftDo they have any US trooping contracts?

Now i dont belive that statement for a second. yes the DC-10 has had its troubles but its also been one of the most reliable hard working airliners out there. NW never had a single accident with them and they used them for 30 years. Omni and now ATA are taking fresh DC-10s into the passenger role.

Are passengers still flying in the DC-10? Rather you than me, mate.

Spoke to an airline pilot recently about the DC-10, and he said “Don’t you mean the Death Craft Mark 10” !

Bri:diablo:

That’s very harsh don’t you think?….the much magligned ubiquitous DC10 suffered from a reputation that it truly didn’t deserve…i can’t believe any Commercial pilot would say that!

Omni, not OMANI.
I noticed EIN990P routing BOS-STN this afternoon as a 757, Titan perhaps?

I do apologise.
Could have been one of Omnis 757s.

They had a A330 go tech in BOS towards the end of the week so they had the DC-10 and a 757 operating between DUB and BOS over the weekend.

A Omni DC-10 left DUB at about 11pm last night not to sure where it was heading.

Again!! thats got to be the 3rd time this year one of there A330S has gone tech stateside!!
