Well I can! :diablo:

All plumbers worth their salt refer to them as “ejection” seats. This is based on the following principle: ejector systems remove, jettison or release their attachment/content (eg Ejector Release Unit (ERU) whereas, ejection relates to a device that removes itself An “ejector seat” would eject it’s contents (occupant) and I would surmise that MB used the term because they refer to the complete seat installation which includes the ejection gun (which ejects the seat!).

I don’t consider it ‘ shutting the door ‘. I have just learned something from someone who knows better. Shame a lot of people see it as a put down.

I own a unused, Royal Australian Navy Sea Venom/ or a RAAF Vampire Mk 1F seat.

Martin Baker didnt know what type it was because of lack of records but it seems to be a Venom 1F type… I sent them the seat information data plate… seems mine is 3rd made.

The seat maybe be on display next year at the HARS airshow in my flightgear display section, along side my Martin Baker H7AFF-4D Phantom II seat.

Is it “ejector ” or “ejection” ? Not one to be pedantic but the best way to wind up the bomb heads on 39 sqn was to call them `ejector` seats. Big cheer for the plumbers !!!!

Have an almost NOS type R PSP (soft type) which I may be persuaded to part with, but depends what you have as swapsies 😀 I may have a headbox cover, but I’m not sure without digging through boxes of stuff.

PM me if you like…
