Won’t happen… Won’t appeal to NCL Pax because EK don’t have brown ale on their inflight service 🙂

This rumour has circulated NCL for a while now, Believe it when you see it.
Coincidentally, I doubt the stand 9 development has anything to do with EK.

[QUOTE=David Kerr]When did BAA force CO and DL out of EDI then? They are still running, aren’t they?
QUOTE]
Slightly different kettle of fish here, there are loads of flights a day from GLA to stateside(in summer), so only right that EDI should have a few, The American market is very big in Scotland.however, it is well known that BAA want EDI primarily for short hop, and GLA primarily for long haul (PIK catering for the west coast short stuff)
Would dearly like to see EDI get an eastbound long haul, but, really can’t see it IF EK start NCL, giving east coasters a choice of 2 EK served airports in short travelling time.

I have heard from a friend in the loop that EK had definite plans to come to YYZ, though I haven’t heard anything in a little while.

Like i said though best to wait for offcial word from the airline. NCL has been let down before.

Some info about Stand 9 for you all. From what I have heard it has been upgraded to house an A330 or 777. This then puts the rumour of Emirates more in perspective. However I am at doubts that a such a route could sustain capacity at NCL, nevertheless I do hope it comes, as it would be a great assest to NCL’s route network.
A330 all the way. They have parked the monarach a330 there all summer on the orlando flights hehe 777 can just be taken.

BAA’s apparent dislike of long haul routes from EDI.

Oh, not too fussed about Man Utd losing to a dodgy decision…my team’s Middlesbrough!

I think there is plenty of potential here, NCL is easily accessable for folk from Edinburgh and down the east coast of Scotland, very little chance of EK starting an EDI route when they have a route 45 miles west, and, BAA’s apparent dislike of long haul routes from EDI. It makes a whole lot of sense to start from NCL as for people in the north east’s only choices are from MAN or GLA.

What Luke Said. However it would explain Stand 9’s ” facelift “

Great news im waiting for offical word though as there have been plenty of let downs when it comes to NCL long haul.

Cheers for that Lance, David, as i said it is unconfirmed, however the informant is seen as reliable, so, i guess it’s a wait and see. I defend my right to post it on the basis it is a strong rumour and may well come true (at least for NCL anyway)
Not bitter at being beaten by the SPL champs then?? 😀 😀 😀 :D(even with 12 men on the pitch 😀 )
“Dry yer eyes” 😉

Can anoyne confirm that Canada and the United Arab Emirates have liberalised their bilateral, as EK were offered 3 weekly services previously but declined, and that’s the reason why EY are operating into YYZ? If it’s not, we may have to treat the news about these “new” routes as just as much rubbish as the referee awarding that free kick some 5 seconds after the “foul” was committed and a nanosecond after the crowd shouted.
