Electronic Attack – The Next Game Changer?

I’ve seen a few articles online recently that have talked about certain AESA radar sets being able to ‘electroniclly attack’ the enemy. Now to me this sounds pretty hardcore stuff – the ability to attack one’s enemy at the speed of light, completely invisable to the human eye, physical counter measures of the traditional type won’t stop it , it really would seem to open up a whole new element to aircraft design in both the offensive ability sense of the aircraft using electronic attack methods but also a headache for aircraft designers and operators trying to defend against electronic attacks.

I realise this is all pretty high level stuff and we probably won’t get any firm answers to any questions but just what do people think the capabilities of these new fangled electronic attack radars may be? who can make them, what nations are working on them? How would one try and defend against such a device? I’m sure theres many more questions too, anyone want to speculate what might be out there or around the corner…..
