Hands up who is thinking of, or has gone over the electronic version of FlyPast?
What do you make of it?
I just have and I think I like it. No more guilty episodes of throwing issues out in the recycling!

I haven’t tried the electronic version yet because I collect aviation magazines.
Save ware and tear on your collection, read the digital version. 😀

I’ve been slightly miffed at the stability of the pocket mags app. Freezing during boot. Refusing to work. Can’t display he swipe control to shuttle between pages.
An update has just appeared on the apple AppStore however which fixes all this. Go take a look. It’s v4.9.8

I always read my magazines in the bath so an electronic version is of no interest!

My local library canvassed readers as to what magazines they could make electronically available via their website. I voted for FlyPast.

That’s the one!!!!
Wish I’d held on to a few too – could have flogged them as Jubilee specials!

Standard Home Office Issue.
On the side of every government owned wash basin thoughout the Empire for decades, still got a couple of bars in the loft for old times sake. (Ex GPO Telephone Exchanges)

Reminds me of being at ATC camp back in the 60s, when every sheet had “Government Issue” stamped on it. 😀
MOD soap bars used to have “E II R” stamped into it – convinced an American I used to work with it was off the Royal Yacht.
He looked quite pleased with his leaving gift…

Magazine by Tablet: Tried It….Liked It
After being lucky enough to acquire an iPad Mini, I’ve taken the plunge and subscribed to one of the big aviation historic mags. It costs about £2 a copy. I’m hooked. It’ll look even better on a full size tablet. Pinching to contract/expand articles and photos is easy, and reading is so easy. No more mags to balance on my lap, store, fret about due to running out of room, then bin years later (apart from ones containing those golden articles….I can’t let them go!!).
And I’m looking at 27 years of Flypast magazines, and a stack of the others, And they’re going…somewhere out of this house (my decision, no one elses guys!). My life is so busy, there is barely enough time to read what’s coming in. Decision made, though.

I have gone over to buying electronic copies of all my aviation magazine, not just Flypast. Makes storage a lot easier and no more trips to shops just to buy them. All done from the comfort of my home.

Hate reading in the bath. I’m warm but my hands stay cold!

It was the only Government White Paper ever issued that was worth a sh*t..
Strangely i missed it when it went lol..

Your going to have to put a free wifi electronic terminal in Tescos so Robbo can read it for free on his iPad…
Have loop on my iPad, that’s free and I like that, it works well in the format, check it out BlueRobin… Flypast on iPad nope, simply because I like to read it in the bath and my iPad isn’t waterproof if I drop it… It would be nice to be able to get it all the past 12 issues on DVD at say the end of the year so I can bin all the water stained copies..

It’s great, but on my iPad I can only read it when I have a wifi signal.
No, you download it, then it is saved on your iPad for as long as you want. You don’t need a wifi signal to access it.
I’ve been getting the digital version for the past 6 months. It’s fine, but is just a scanned version of the print magazine. Other magazines (such as Motor Sport) do it much better IMHO, with additional content (such as videos and additional photos) available on the digital version.

Flypast’s far too glossy to be of any use as bogroll. It’d be like using the awful “Medicated Izal”.
