Hi
My first time and Elmset and what fun it was too.
When the Mustang parked up in front of the crowd line, the ammunition panels were taken off revealing dummy rounds of ammunition and exposing the instructions on how to load up the gun bay. Hopefully you can read the instructions on one of the attached images.
I also never thought that a Cessna formation display could be exciting to watch.
Sadly not everything went according to plan. The parachute on one of the Ted Devils failed to open properly. Fortunately quick thinking by the Fire Rescue team saved the day and rendered first aid to the poor thing. A couple of those images are a little blurred owing to the dead stop nature of the action.

Thank you all for your nice comments.
Apparently there was a competition whereby visiting aircraft had to try to sneak in to the airfield without being spotted and ‘bounced’ by the ‘local defence’ airplane. With all that ammo perhaps the Mustang could be involved in some way next year. 🙂
Cheers
Martin

I am so glad the Ted Devil was OK after the Fire And Rescue team provided first aid, I had a lump in my throat as I scrolled down the page! 😮

So that’s what Britain’s airborne forces are reduced to now is it?
