ELVINGTON 2008……………

I have just discovered tio my dismay,that there will be NO Elvington air show in 2008, The event is going to be every TWO years from now on, so the next one will be in 2009 🙁 sorry if this has been posted before

The Elvington air museum next door has just lost a battle to see more construction go round the base, I just hope this is not the beginning of the end of Elvington Airfield it is prime building land. and owned by a company at the other end of the country

Presumably you mean that the museum has recently opposed plans to build near to the museum but the planning has been approved despite the museum’s opposition…? I haven’t heard of any plans to build on the actual airfield itself although I gather that there were once plans to develop/expand the airfields facilities for GA use.

🙁 I emailed ELVINGTON EVENTS, so i could confirm the dates, so we could book our hotel, BUT as i posted, there will be no show this year

Hi all,

I have heard similar things! If it’s true it will be a shame as it would have been good for them to celebrate the standing down of Tornado F3’s from service in Yorkshire (25(F)Sqn RAF Leeming)
