Nice to see and hear a Victor running again and the highlight for me was the Hunter T8, painted up as XJ615, first time I’d seen that one! Programme varied quite a bit from what had originally been advertised due to serviceability problems as well as the appalling weather of the last few days. The airfield was so wet it simply was impossible to bring some of the airframes out from the museum to bolster the static.
Despite 2 heavy showers in the afternoon the organisers kept display items in front of the crowd for the best part of 5 hours, quite an achivement given the conditions.

Excellent shots there old bean. The Hurri shot was a standout for me, until I saw the rest!

thanks Scott
If I was still living in the UK i would make a hard effort to come down and help them out with her upkeep! I do hope eventually they can get a building to put her in so she doesnt suffer from the elements and it would make working on her much easier.

thanks everyone, the Hunter is now owned by Elvington Events Ltd, apparently (hence its appearance!). The Bucc was unservicable unfortunately so wasn’t able to stretch its legs this time.

Great pics Gareth.
Just got back from a weekend up at Elvington. A really excellent show, with a good varied programme and decent collection of piston warbirds. Congratulations to all concerned. Also got the added bonus of Charlie Brown and BM597 over our campsite yesterday evening. 🙂
