Well I was rather disapointed to see most stick with IE browsers over a little thing like some html code compatability, I hope this thread wont be the same for outlook. So what email programs do you use?

RE: email programs
I can’t really say unfortunately… I have never used Outlook.
(as part of a university course I did a paper on computer security and my lecturer, who has worked in computer security for 40+ years did not have a high opinion of Micrsofts security with their products.
Because it is so widespread it is an easy target for virus’s.)
It is not technically free and I will get around to eventually buying it but you can run it in three modes. One is paid for. Fully functional, and no adverts. Second is sponsored where adverts appear in a corner of the window, they are small and occasionally of interest. And finally there is the “free” mode with reduced functionality… but you can do most of the things you need to do. Neither the Sponsored mode or the free mode cost anything.
In the time I have had it they have asked if I want to buy it about once every few weeks (not an email… just a notice and dialog box which disappear if you click “later”).
They also give you updates, like an “anti spam agent” and a fax facility. There is also a thing called “pure voice” that will read out your emails to you, but I have never bothered using these features or many of the other ones available.
If you are interested I would suggest you download a copy and try it. (If you buy computer magazines with CDs or DVDs on the front you might find it on there.)
The worst possible scenario is that you find you don’t like it and all it costs you is the download time. (Not sure about what your internet connection is like).
At University the students initally were using “Pegasus Mail” but there were a few problems with it for so many first time users. They changed to Eudora and are still using it I believe for the Students. (The Staff use Outlook, though I think many have started using Eudora.)
Their website is:

RE: email programs
I use Eudora, and find it meets my needs. (it is fully html compatible and is free).
It is not as widely used as Outlook and is therefore targetted less often by those who write virus’s… which I appreciate.
I can’t think of any function that is in outlook that is not in Eudora and am happy to use it instead.
