Count the lies. Most western politicians tell lies sometimes. Trump tells lies all the time. He doesn’t even try to keep them consistent. He’ll tell a lie, then contradict it – over & over again. There are people out there keeping track, & they all agree that he tells more lies than any other comparable (major party, western country) politician.

Also, making taxpayers pay large sums to put up government employees in his own hotel is a new trick.

In regards to the EMALS, Trump has no idea what he is talking about. The electromagnetic cat is integral to the Ford class concept, to retrofit would require a rebuild for steam. Anyway, this is a man who bragged to the Coast Guard that he saved them money on the F-35 and Ford class in a commencement speech (two programs the Coast Guard has no part of). Apparently, he had forgotten that his defense budget plan originally gutted funding for the Coast Guard.

For the rest, Emals are a tech more important for conventional carriers, allowing them to work on a standard COGAG/CODlAG plant instead of steam than to nuclears powered ones i.e. with what is still a steam based engine..
I would try that it means that US would stick to their 100.000+ ton CVN for a long time, without trying alternative ways.

Yeah, well, Trump is currently busy contradicting the sacking letter he sent to the head of the FBI, his personally authorised press releases & statements by the US Justice Department in his tweets, while claiming in an interview that ‘priming the pump’ is a phrase he recently invented.

I believe nothing he says until he does it, & even then I wait a while in case he reverses it.
