Embraer 195.

Flew on one of FlyBe’s finest the other day.
I thought I felt an odd movement of the platform. When in a steady turn, minor corrections by the driver seemed far too instant, rather like a hand-brake turn as oppose to a steady curve.
Is this a peculiarity of the type? I sat in my normal place (I always ask for it) which is at the Rear root of the Wing (I like to watch the T/e in action!) so my seating position isn’t really a factor here when comparing type to type.
Any pilots / other pax noticed it?

Thanks for your answer.
So, how many Embraer platforms/ marques does that Vert Fin fit?

IIRC the DC8’s fin went smaller as the aeroplane body went longer. It needs less leverage due to the distance from the turning moment.

I know what you mean.

I think the long lever arm of the vertical fin means the tail volume ratio (w.r.t. the wing size) is slightly out of what would be considered the norm… meaning a rather sensitive aircraft.
