Hi all
Our Emirates service upgrade kicks off today..our existing lunchtime B777-300 flight goes to a 3 class config (A6-EGJ first visit just landed) and a new evening flight ..first Emirates A340 service to UK i believe (A6-ERP due 1950 local)
nice for a bit of cheer at GLA for a change…weather getting better here so hopefully some decent landing shots of the A340 tonight 😀

Well..they wont be come february 2013…being phased out…our A340 will change to another B777-300 then..shame really….only have a couple of months of being able to shoot it due to its late arrival time 🙁

I didn’t even realise Emirates flew the A340.

Seems to be a scheduled service to Gatwick, but not for a few years now.

I flew on an Emirates A340-500, A6-ERD, from Dubai to LGW in March 2004. Maybe it wasn’t the aircraft normally scheduled for this service!

😮 Ahh.. misinformation on my part! lol.. i was told this was the first EK A340 sched to UK..where else gets them??

Look forward to seeing the pics. However I was a bit puzzled by the comment “first Emirates A340 service to UK i believe” as I have flown back to the UK on one!
