Well its finally here Emirates have started there new service from NCL to Dubai. Im over the moon it is happening, it is great for NCL and the north!
Finall prep was taking place all last night with Gates 25 and 26 getting a clean up.
The today A330 A6-EKQ arrived to a full water cannon salute from the NCL fire team.
I am off work today after doing a 12 hour shift yesterday so missed it.

No connection Allen AFAIK, the downsizing of tomorrows flight is very odd as it is 100% fully booked all classes, the unlucky pax being routed via England, must be some sort of operational thing, i fly EK a week on wednesday and have been told it will be a 773.
I work on EK check-in here at BHX and if I remember correctly, EK sub-chartered a flybe DH4 which flew approx 50 PAX from GLA-BHX (I’m guessing it was on the day of the GLA down-grade). Makes sense now as I rememeber somebody telling me that the GLA aircraft was down-graded. I had to deal with these PAX and they certainly were not happy but were given food vouchers!

Yes with ease mate.
Presumably getting a BA 772 operating LHR-NCL (going off the gate gourmet comment!) is a lot more doable then getting a max payload 773 routing NCL-DXB?

Tis true Lukey, Afaik BA only operate -200 series variants of the 777!
As does the only other operatopr that has flown a 777 into NCL…Kuwait Airways

Ye should stop telling lies… 😀
NCL has never seen a 777-300(non ER or ER).
There is 2 or 3 stands capable of taking them, but AFAIK, they are remote stands.

Yes with ease mate. We had 3 in a few years back for the gate gormet strikes. They can fit fine on stand 9 which is the stand EK use.

Can a 773 fly from NCL? But then again I would rather see the A330 then the 777.

Ah memories….
Maybe NCL will get a 773 eventually too, if loads are as good as have been at GLA…? I believe Emirates described it as their most succesful new route launch for a while…

The Heathrow flight leaves UK Airspace via DVR (Dover). After DVR, it travels to KOK the UL9.

The Glasgow flight goes via Copenhagen as well. It leaves Scottish airspace at a point called SURAT which is where upper airway UP983 crosses the 0330E meridian. That is round about where the little black diamond is on the map.

Takes it out over the North Sea and over Copenhagen.

Interesting that EK036’s routing after take off from rwy 25 today took it on a right turn towards the north east, not the usual left turn towards the south west out of Newcastle, wonder which way they go. I lost it about 40 miles out over the north sea, so not sure from there.

Why is Emirates advertising Newcastle to China etc in the terminal.
Using Dubai as a hub you can go to a lot of places by Emirates. They advertise Glasgow-Austrailia up here…

Or…for another 60quid less, fly Etihad to Abu Dhabi! 😀
Dubai Airport – Passport Control = Hell! :diablo: 🙁 :diablo:
By: lukeylad - 1st September 2007 at 22:43
It’s £60 cheaper to fly from NCL, than MAN with them!
But then I would have the problem of getting to NCL!
Choices..Choices..
🙂
Train to newcastle then hop on the metro direct to the airport.
