EMP Weapons – History, Development & Deployment Discussions

Thought we could have a thread, specifically to discuss about EMP weapons.

I think everyone would be glad if we could take this thread into a learning thread than flaming/useless discussions with nationalistic jingoisms.

I have a few questions to start this discussions.

1. I realised that nuclear weapons produce enormous EM Pulse when it explodes. But the EMP specific weapons just produce the EM Pulse. What is used to make this pulse?

2. Are there any EMP weapons in development? or deployment?

3. Any pictures??

4. Does a ‘Faraday Cage’ protect from EMP??
