Just a quick one, why is it when most Russian airliners are on the ground they always use there protective engine covers, and not many western airlines follow this practice. Is this due to a lot of them being based in cold climates so it’s a standard procedure to follow?.

They do it everywhere if the aircraft stays on the ground for more than 6 hours or so. Otherwise I don’t know why it would be done more in Russia.
