Qantas’ budget airline Jetstar is reportedly the subject of a high profile safety scare campaign by airline engineers.
The Australian Licensed Aircraft Engineers Association will erect billboard advertising at Sydney and Melbourne airports and on the internet over concerns that pre-flight safety inspections will be done by pilots in transit rather than licensed engineers, The Australian Financial Review reported.
The association said cut-price tickets were being offered at the expense of safety.
Qantas said the process had been used by its subsidiary Impulse for four years.
