EOS goes bust…

Another airline casualty today, looks like the bottom has fallen out of the premium transatlantic market… I wonder if BA will continue to pursue their A318 venture…

I wonder if BA will continue to pursue their A318 venture…

It still seems to be the plan.

I think (and hope!) that the fundemental difference is that for BA this accounts for a very small part of a big company. For Maxjet, Eos and Silverjet it was/is the whole operation.

This makes it much easier for BA to walk away if it doesn’t work.

Eos airlines were doing fantatsic

I wonder on what basis you make that statement. Clearly from their current position they were not!

Well, it now be seen how long Silverjet will last?

Personally I see Silverjet hanging around for a while. They have a much superior product than the others that have dissapeared.

BA is also about to start an opertion from LCY flying transatlantic. I am not sure if it has been confirmed that the A318 is to be used though. I believe BA are still considering the A319 as well because of its longer range.

BA are doing this with a long range verson of the A318 😉 😎 So as EoS have gone into Chapter 11 will they be back flying or is it to late ?

2008 is turing into one of the worst years yet for Airlines going bust. Eos airlines were doing fantatsic and infact i thought that Profits would rise to a all time high when MaxJet went bust looks like i am wrong:(

Yes indeed, they plan a business class service from LCY via SNN to New York using (perhaps) a business configured A318, two of the chosen aircraft will be purchased. The pit stop in SNN is necessary to faciltate a departure from LCY without a full fuel load.
