I would like some info on colour schemes and pics of certain aircraft from EPTS and RAE. Firstly is the Shackleton WR972, mostly photographed in its white, blue and grey livery but I have found a drawing possibly from Scale Aircraft Modelling magazine of a top and bottom view of WR972 in grey with red/dayglo trim with a black and yellow underside.
Next is another Shackleton, WG557 which was with the EPTS in a Royal Navy scheme of dark sea grey and light grey. Most pics I have seen of this machine is from ground level but in the Farnborough-100 years of avaition book there is an aerial pic with this Shackleton off to one side and from what it appears that the top part of the wings have black parts painted inline of the engines but not to sure on this.
Lastly is the Javelin XH754 used for in Singapore 1961, which according to different sources has had 3 types of colour schemes. The Model Alliance decal sheet booklet shows it with overall silver finish with upper surface in roughly applied white distemper and leading edges in dayglo but I cant find any pics in this colour and in the Farnborough book tells of it being in white with black trim and silver undersides then later having dayglo added to the nose and tail and black and yellow undersides.

WR972 started out with the RAE in the standard maritime extra dark sea grey and white top but with nose, tail, fins (not the rudders), and tip tanks in silver. It then appeared in all over silver/natural metal with the underside yellow/black target tug stripes, before getting the final white, light grey, and dark blue scheme.
WG557 when with the Weapons Flight of the RAE was in extra dark sea grey top with white undersides, a reversal of the standard finish and with the demarcation line futher down the fuselage sides. It briefly wore ‘ROYAL NAVY’ legends on the rear fuse in its final ETPS days, the black bands were applied over wings (also on WR972) to hide the effects of exhaust soot
