Essex Airports !

Another trip, this time to two of Essex’s diverse airports, the first is Southend, which seems to be a resting place for many mid sized airliners ?

I agree with Pauls comments, anyway, I see no difference in the quality of yours and my photos.

The Boeing 767-300 is one of Roman Abramovichs private planes as you probably know. It used to be seen regularly at Luton too. I’ve often wondered what those unusual looking and non-standard aerials are on the roof, any ideas?

tenthije. Wow! thank you for that, what a long and interesting career this airframe has had ! your history ends at 2004, and as my photo shows she is still available for viewing at STN in 2010 …. sorry but I have a lot of time for older airframes that seem to have been abandoned …. I think of the excitement of some of its earlier passengers clambering for their seats to go onto a holiday …. and that she is sitting there, today, watching the same scramble being carried out ..by different people on different airframes !

Paul. Hey, thank you for that word ‘Interestingness’ yes that does sum up a lot of what I would like to achieve … an interest in our recent past, things such as the above post, an airframe that has, in its own way, played a part in getting the airline industry to where we are now …..

Keith, you talk about achieving the same standard of other photos but what these possibly lack in absolute technical quality they more than make up for in terms of (to use a Flickr word) interestingness! It’s always nice seeing your varied posts, so thanks for sharing them.

I’d also love to know more about that Tristar!
