Etendard in Afghanistan

I believe the 17F SEMs have now returned home. Does anyone have any more on this, or indeed any opinions on why they might have been deployed in the first place – have read some pretty harsh comments on a certain French blog about the wisdom of this. Have AFM written anything on their Afghan deployment ?
