Eugene M. Noble RIP…

hi,
whilst checking for any info on times for the practise drop and then the time of the departure to France of the C.47’s from Duxford, I learnt that Eugene M. Noble died on Jan. 29th 2019 aged 96yrs, one day before his 97th birthday… He piloted Snafu Special- C.47 43-15073 c/n 19529, now preserved at the Merville Battery, it served with the 9th USAAF and took part in Operations Overlord, Dragoon, Market Garden, Varsity, and flew over the Ardennes in Dec. 1944.
Blue skies sir, and thanks for your service…

regards,
jack…

Blue Skies sir. I was at Merville when the Legion D’Honeur was presented to him and his daughters on his behalf in 2014 followed by a large flypast of C160, C130 and C47. A brilliant day.
