“Eurofighter Typhoon IT001 succesfully completed low speed taxi trials at the Alennia Aeronautica facility in Italy ahead of its maiden flight. IT001 is the first Italian Air Force Eurofighter to come off the production line. First flight of IT001 is expected to be achieved shortly.
The aircraft was piloted by Alenia Aeronautica Chief Test Pilot Maurizio Cheli. Trials involved running the aircraft up to 80kts and braking through use of the drogue parachute braking systems. All testing was completed succesfully.”
