Has anyone flown with this charter carrier. I have booked to fly one them at Xmas to Sydney from Gatwick. Im flying on one of their 747s (ex BA I think) and I have paid to go club so hope it will be nice for the long flight.
If anyones interested I booked it with Austravel, the fares are good, flight refuels in Colombo, once weekly. Economy starts at £499.00.

I too have heard about the possibility of 757’s replacing the A300’s and as such I’ve been working with my contact on designing Scandic a new livery.
Nothing concrete yet.

A 757 TRE who has been contacted with a view to be involved in the fleet start up. He reckons the likelihood of it all happening successfully is 50:50.

Inside information says that EAC are currently reviewing the possibility of 757 operations. Lease prices are cheap, adhoc charter work is for the taking.

Arent they getting rid of the -200s in favour of more -300s?
Some pretty tight schedules there as well getting a Zante and Kefalonia rotation one day is pretty good going. Wouldnt like to be flying with them if they get a delay with such tight schedules.

I was looking at SYD flights for Jan myslef a couple of weeks ago.
Its a great price, I was looking at EK and SQ who were coming out at £600-£700.
Would have probably preferred EK though, A330 to DXB and then A340-500 onwards, can’t beat that!

I have just looked at my confirmation, its called European Deluxe class its at the front of the plane, premium economy is upstairs. They have also given me 40kg baggage allowance !

Is this a seasonal service only, i.e. during the ‘Australian’ summer season? Also, is Columbo their only stop on this route? What are the flight times for each segment? Also, what is the configuration of these aircraft (they are, indeed ex BA aircraft, Carl)?

EAL own Palmair right? If their service is anything like theirs then it should be pretty good. EAL club in the “Sunshine club” or something similar?

the upstairs of the classic jumbos are certainly a lot better than economy. This i am speeking from again the Atlanta experiance, but even with a full charter confi lower deck there were 18 or 24 seats upstairs which were well worth the extra that the pax paid for them. The flights were operated for LOCO
