European cooperation

I know this topic has been debated before and many of you are fierce pro or contra.
This is not really about the ideological battle, but rather about the pracical side of the problem…

Europe has some points where it should upgrade or create its capacities (SEAD, tanker, long-range transport,…). Wouldn’t it be possible to create European units, like it has happened in the NATO with the E-3’s? It would be a comparatively low-cost solution and it would also improve international operations.
