Eva Air's fleet of 747's

Im off to Australia now in 6 weeks and traveling with Eva in their 747 400’s. I have always wanted to travel in a 747 as to me they were the daddys of the sky. I was quite disappointed when i looked online and seen how old and tatty their fleet was. Didnt even have individual screens on seats. Anyone lately been with eva?

Guess Airbus would have some commercial idea of the downtime in rewiring issues!:D

Downtime isn’t always an issue, as retrofitting can be done during D checks for example. Don’t know the time scale of it being done independently however

Didnt even have individual screens on seats.

Heck, I’ve flown the Atlantic in a 767 with a major carrier w/o screens in seat backs.

I don’t think I’d wait for a minor carrier to retofit them in an aging 747!

That poses an interesting (to me anyway) question: Anyone have an idea of the cost, downtime, and paperwork required for such a change?
