BREAKING NEWS: DAE places $27 billion order for 200 Airbus and Boeing aircaft.

Dubai Aerospace Enterprise has signed letters of intent for 200 Airbus and Boeing aircraft today at the Duba air show.

The deal – worth $27.2 billion at list prices – is split 50/50 between the two airframers, comprising 70 Airbus A320 aircraft and 30 A350 XWBs, and 70 Boeing 737s, five 747-8Fs, 10 777-300ERs and 15 787s.

Deliveries of the Boeings start in 2010 and the Airbuses in 2013.

The Dubai-based aviation services group is also expected to boost its aircraft portfolio this week with through a sale/leaseback deal with Emirates and the acquisition of a portfolio from lessor GE Commercial Aviation Services.
