As I am off to get some photos of noisy pointy things in Scotland on Tuesday, I thought I would give my new lens a bit of a thrashing. I must have thrashed it too much as towards the end of the afternoon I pushed the shutter release part way down, it zoomed in, zoomed out and then there were two clunks and everything went blurred. It is now boxed up ready for returning tomorrow.
Apart from that, it was a very good afternoon. 5 German civilian registered aircraft, looked like homebuilts, arrived just as the sun came out, and out came the Grace Spitfire and an Me 108 put in an appearance, and a Harvard, and a Cub. Sally B had her wingtips replaced and was then pulled onto the grass and had an engine run. Oh!, and that big red Antartic Survey aeroplane started up and departed with an incredibly short take off run.

I wrong-slotted driving up the M11 on Friday and ended up passing Duxford (Shame). Glimpsed the big red job, but didn’t have time to actually see what it was.
