Ever cried watching a Movie?

Well ,
You know when I went in California for the first time , I was surprised how big the “foreign” section was at the video store.

Many Italian and French movies.

The french cinema is intelligent , sometimes boring but too far away from Hollywood’s standards to have a worldwide huge carrier.

However you certainly don’t know that many american blockbusters and French movies remakes.

My wife is Californian and loves French cinema. However it’s very hard to find french DVD’s with english subtitles.

For example we had to get “Amelie Poulain” in London .
The french release doesn’t have the English subtitles.

I don’t think that’s very smart !!!

Well Brad, I think that French and European movies in general don’t get the attention they sometimes diserve. I don’t know for sure about Amelie, but I think this one made it to the movie theaters in North-America. But there are some great films out here no one every heard of. It’s not Hollywoods fault, I think it’s the people here in Europe who should be learned to appreciate domestic films. Compare Das Boot with the Hollywood version U-578 or Stalingrad with Enemy at the Gates. The past few years, nothing good came from Hollywood. 9/11 probably has something to do with it, don’t know. I’m just not impressed anymore.

Geforce (or anyone else)- What do you think of French cinema in general?

I cried during Titanic when the mother was trying to get her children to sleep knowing they were going to die. That was just terrible. I also cried during The Wedding Singer, Saving Private Ryan and Patch Adams.

I have cried of laughter during some extremely funny movies otherwise it is because of the bad acting…. *Cough* Britney Spears Crossroads *cough*

Disney movies always get me going as well!

not yet……. by the way did any of u cry seeing titanic?? When i went to see at the hall i think almost the whole hall was in tears…… i didnt find anything that emotional in the movie that makes one cry.

Oh yeah ….. Philadelphia : beautiful movie.
