Evil US Stops Indian Monsoons

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 03-08-02 AT 04:23 AM (GMT)]Here is another thing you can blame on the evil and most murderous gangster Americans. It seems the Monsoons are late in coming to India and the blame rests on Americans in Afghanistan. I bet that if the monsoon causes any deaths, those will also be blamed on the heinous and vile murderer Americans too. What a joke!

RE: Evil US Stops Indian Monsoons

evil intent? No, just human emotions. Why not, there are those in the US government also not happy at almost anything the government does, so it doesn’t surprise me. It’s just i hope for people at such high positions can say somethings more intellegently, or at least prove it by giving figures, ie, how much aersols/green house gasses was released and why such an amount would affect the weather such dramatically while i think a nuke explosion was found to affect the local weathers rather small if at all (was a stupid childhood idea of mine to detonate a nuke in the middle of a hurrican and see what would happen? I was told that nothing would because the scale of thing is just way off)

RE: Evil US Stops Indian Monsoons

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 03-08-02 AT 08:41 PM (GMT)]The real purpose of the “Chief Scientist’s” rant has nothing to do with science and everything to do with a political agenda.

Anecdotal evidence is not science. Precipitation, like all other weather patterns, fluctuates over time. Very few measured data fall exactly on the average. Most data fall around the mean (average) in a characteristic distribution that can be defined mathematically. To compare a snapshot of precipitation against the average and claim that as proof would get the good “Chief Scientist” laughed out of any true gathering of real scientists. The “Chief Scientist” needs to go back to school, learn a little about statistics and stay out of politics.

Link to precipitation data.

Djcross,
As long as it is not a western scientist making claims, the findings are labeled fiction regardless of how credible the research is. If you read carefully, this Indian scientist is not making deragatory comments against the U.S. or Americans but merely stating a scientific finding.

Sam.
