That sounds good! How about some nice authentic sounding artwork of some bloke in a hat, maybe a horse and a name like..er how about “Cowboys in the sky” or some such, and maybe retain a few checkers on the very front of the nose?

Yes, Oxford Street perhaps? They could paint in a nice eye-catching colour such as red.

I think it would look nice in London in a shop window. Maybe it could sell something like faux-aviation flying jackets and be suspended at a jaunty angle?

Yes, it is. They launched an appeal a while back to raise funds to transport it from Lambeth to Duxford

Anybody know if the “Big Beautiful Doll” from Lambeth is staying at Duxford to replace the plastic one in the AAM?

The wreckage was collected by Meier Motors and returned to Germany I believe…

More likely to be mixing it up with the IWM P51 that came from Lambeth I reckon.

I never get the American obsession with naming all of their aeroplanes, and then cant keep track of them when the name changes!

Maybe the guy is mixing up real P-51 and replica P-51s?
