Just seen a post on the WIX forum that this machine, which was rumored to have been bought by TFC last year, has been sold to an American buyer.
Here’s the link to the post:

I wonder if this license restriction will have implications for the Tigercat and the continuing restoration of the Beau….??
Pressumably it was also a factor in the alledged disposal of the Mossie….??
Question, why swap an aircraft….which you cant fly, for another aircraft….which you cant fly???????
My guess is that Mr Grey has more than the CAA to beat if he really wants to fly the Beau. There is more chance of his number one Son flying it than him. Old farther Time is ticking 😀
She will look gorgeous when she does fly though.

Anyone out there gonna bring me up to speed on the ‘alleged’ disposal of the Mossie, I’ve seen it several times implied that this aircraft has not been sold? Has it, hasn’t it, whats the story? I know I saw it road running on the A11 last year heading for Norwich but further to that …?

Attempting to get this slighlty back on thread……;)

I can’t believe you told them all Ashley it is terrible, at least you didn’t let it slip about the Hailfax being finished at Hendon and bought over for a one day apperance!

Like most people on this forum i am very dissapointed but not suprised the P38 will not grace these shores, we will have to all remember the good old days when TFCs P38 was the most popular a/c in the collection, in fact the star of the fleet.

Glacier Girl………….. 😮
That’d mean it’d be finally arriving at it’s destination a mere 61 years after originally departing….:D
Could be good publicity in that idea…….
How easy is it too dismantle, crate and re-assemble the odd arrangement of a P-38 though…..

Well maybe Mr Friedkin has bought it. 😉
If he has, then I suppose there is a chance that a P38 might grace the UK skies again, if only for a short period! :p

I hope the owner is West Coast. The closer to Arizona the better! 🙂

That’s a real shame, I was hoping we’d see one flying here again
