Ex-Tom Blair (ex-Duxford) FW 190 in new finish on its own legs again

Hello everybody,
I just saw the picture of the ex-Duxford FW 190 in new overall silver (at least for now). Use the link to Meier Motors homepage below, enjoy it. (I personally would have preferred a more colourful bird, but that´s up to the new owner).

Adler – a few mods like a retractable tailwheel and a tiny teardrop canopy would get a few extra knots out of the thing ! maybe ‘Red Bull Wulf Racing’ could catch on !!

More like Walter Wulf Racing…………..

Racing 190

A set of Wulf Race wheels would help it go faster too:D

You also have to wonder how the airframe would do in Unlimited category air racing, it’s a clean and sturdy airframe that would probably accept a SeaFury style Wright or P&W conversion without much trouble.

Pity none of these has been put in a civil scheme yet akin to G-FIRE!

That airfield is rapidly becoming a German Duxford.

The previous paint job was never one of my favourites and was poorly applied with no etch primer, hence it fell off the aircraft if you stuck anything (even masking tape) on it! The aircraft is a new build type and therefore has no history or provenance so any scheme is authentic! Having said that The Fighter Factory example in the background looks excellent and makes this “silver scheme” example look like it belongs to “Das Konnfederate Air Flug”…

I’m confused…..thought that this bird had been repainted in authentic colours, now it seems to have changed. Some kind of problem???

Nope. The one you refer to might be the Fighter Factory´s one (seen in the background of some of the photos). But if you mean the original paint of the Duxford´s one, yes, it was stripped and painted as shown. The new owner mightn´t like his predecessors colour choice….? :diablo:

I think there may be some confusion here due to the fact that Meier Motors currently have two Fw190’s in thier workshop, one for Jerry Yaegen (the one in authentic markings with black and white check cowlings) and the other this ex-Blair example that is being done for a European customer.
