In Den Haag Netherlands the excavation started of Bristol Blenheim IV, probably L8831. It crashed on may 10th 1940. The wreckage was found when the field was prepared for new houses.

What happens to the stuff they dig up, there is a lockable bin in the background, let me guess, off to the scrapyard ?
Amazing someone in the western world is still building houses, maybe Dutch banks were far more sensible 🙂
Good chance that several parts will be donated to a museum.

But priorities were never a strongpoint for the Ministry of Deceit….oops…typo, I mean Defence. Lets see now….shall we re-carpet all MOD offices or make Nimrods and Hercs safe to fly and provide our troops with adequate kit. Hmmm… a bit of a tough call for Despot Brown, that one. I wonder if I can bill the MOD for the desert kit I recently had to fork out and buy for my son because it was such c**p or get a tax refund? Still..better not get me started! 😀
Anyway, back on topic, some interesting finds from this Blenheim. A pity if they get scrapped but that was what Capt Spering of the RNAF told me happens to most of the finds that turn up these days. Maybe someone can confirm that this is or isn’t the case?

Can’t be MOD property its too strong, that bin is probably more armoured than many of the Land Rovers and Armoured vehicles in use in Iraq and Afghanistan

The lockable bin is probably supplied by the (British) MOD so that their property can be safely returned to its “rightful” owner. :diablo:
