Just noticed that Excel are scheduled to operate a lot of Egypt flights from BHX during the next Winter season.
Fri 1000-1735 XLA3900 BHX/HRG/BHX 1835-2220 XLA3901
Sat 1200-1930 XLA3914 BHX/SSH/BHX 2030-0015 XLA3915
Sun 1200-1930 XLA3905 BHX/SSH/BHX 2030-0015 XLA3906
Now, these are too long duty days for a crew to operate a W pattern from another base, and surely its going to be expensive to position in a crew the day before/after etc (due to flight duty limitations with rest etc) and the same crew couldn’t operate two flights to Egypt in a row because of these limitation.
So does anyone know if XLA are planning on basing aircraft and/or crew at BHX this coming winter? I also know Air Malta are keeping their charter base at BHX over the winter, so could it be them operating these flights but using the XLA code. Air Malta’s currently charters are mainly for Libra holidays, hence the connection.

The BHX based Air Malta A320 is expected to stay based over the Winter 2005/2006 season to operate these flights on behalf of Excel Airways I beleive.
9H-AEF is currenty based operating non-Malta flights around Europe.
